Titanic – The Exhibition – Monday 7th March 2022- Coach trip from Norwich

Canada Water - London

Titanic The Exhibition is an interactive exhibition sponsored by National Geographic, showcasing over 300 artifacts from Titanic and her sister ships and from famous films to tell the chronological, dramatic tale of the design, creation, launch, maiden voyage and tragedy of the largest and most luxurious ship in the world at the time. The artifacts are set inside beautiful fully immersive recreations of the ships interior and tell the latest details of her sinking and discovery. The artifacts are a combination of those that survived the sinking of the Titanic, her sister ships as well as items from the James Cameron blockbuster film Titanic.

Titanic The Exhibition is an interactive experience, where visitors receive a boarding pass corresponding with a passenger on the ship. This allows the visitors to relate to the individual story of their passenger as they explore the first, second and third class galleries and the artifacts from each. They will hear the music of the era as they examine exact recreations of the ship's interiors, stroll the promenade deck, and marvel at the famous Grand Staircase, the social gathering place of the ship.
The stories of love and loss culminate in the final galleries showcasing personal effects and the individual anecdotes surrounding a tribute wall where each passenger’s fate is revealed. The Discovery Gallery, dedicated to the discovery and research of Titanic’s wreck site, features a raised glass floor; giving an impression of walking along the bottom of the ocean. Broken china and artifacts in the sand below allow visitors to experience what discovery teams saw during dives to Titanic’s wreck site. A striking and informative film, narrated by James Cameron, provides an in-depth look at the most recent forensic research related to the collision, breakup, and sinking of the Titanic. Also featured in the Discovery Gallery, National Geographic’s Emory Kristof’s award winning underwater photography of the Titanic lines the walls in a stunning display of the ship’s current state on the sea floor.

Constable Country & Lavenham – Wednesday 13th April 2022

Wednesday 13th April 2022

Join us on this popular trip on the Suffolk & Essex border as we call in at Lavenham  for a short while before heading to Dedham, Constables birth place where you will have time for a spot of lunch.  After lunch we head to Flatford Mill, scene of some of Constables most famous paintings.  If you feel fit you may want to walk across the footpaths to the Mill!

A visit to Flatford Mill in Flatford, East Bergholt, makes for a relaxing day out. The scene has been immortalised by John Constable in his painting of The Haywain, and the Mill is still recognisable. Attached to the Mill, which is a Grade 1-listed watermill originally built in 1733, is a 17th-Century miller’s cottage which is also Grade I listed. The Watermill is located in the centre of Dedham Vale, a wonderfully English village close to the border with Essex. This is part of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so take your time to savour the area. The Mill was once owned by Constable’s father and Constable made both the Mill and the surrounding area the subjects of many of his works of art, which are now world famous.

Newmarket Stud & Heritage Centre Tour – Sunday 1st May 2022 – Coach trip from Norwich

The National Stud opened its gates to the public for the first time in the mid 1970s. To this day The National Stud remains the only commercial stud farm in the UK allowing individuals, small groups and large parties the chance to see behind the scenes of a working Thoroughbred stud farm.

Tours of The National Stud last approximately 90 minutes and are taken by coach and on foot. The tours explore this beautiful 500-acre site and focus on introducing visitors to the history and purpose of The National Stud as a commercial Thoroughbred breeding operation. The National Stud is a working commercial stud farm, so the physical content of the tours varies throughout the year, depending on the season and the activities happening on the stud when you visit.  There is then an opportunity for lunch, following which we visit the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art.

This is situated in Charles II’s sporting palace and stables and spans five acres in the heart of Newmarket. It comprises three complementary attractions; a new National Horseracing Museum, a National Art Gallery of British Sporting Art, and a chance to meet former racehorses and learn what they do after racing, in the flagship home of Retraining of Racehorses.  Part of the visit is a guided tour followed by free time to browse.

The National Heritage Centre at Palace House is the result of over ten years planning, building and fundraising to become the biggest new attraction to open in Suffolk in the last decade. Voted Suffolk Museum of the year 2017.

The Heritage Centre also features The Tack Room: Food by the Pantry. It is accessible to all the public, not just Heritage Centre ticket holders, and can be accessed via large gates on Palace Street directly into the King’s Yard or from the atrium that runs from Rous Road car park through to Palace Street.

Retraining of Racehorses demonstrations take place daily in the arena at 11.30 and 14.30 daily.
